The Role
As a Senior Laboratory Technician, you will independently plan and execute laboratory testing programs to support quality control, product development, and technical investigations across our concrete admixture and cementitious product ranges.
Key Activities and Responsibilities
* Conduct laboratory trials and testing of raw materials and finished products in accordance with AS 1478, AS 1012 and other relevant standards.
* Prepare and test concrete, mortar and grout for fresh and hardened properties.
* Plan, execute and analyse laboratory test programs with minimal supervision.
* Interpret test results and prepare technical reports for internal stakeholders.
* Maintain laboratory equipment, including calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting.
* Ensure accurate laboratory records and timely reporting of results.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory efficiency and reliability.
* Contribute to laboratory training and share technical knowledge within the team.
* Maintain high standards of housekeeping and laboratory organisation.
* Proactively apply WHS principles to all laboratory activities.
About you
* Extensive hands‐on experience in laboratory concretes, including making and testing for fresh and hardened properties in accordance with AS 1012.
* A degree in a relevant scientific field, Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques, Diploma of Laboratory Technology, or a minimum high‐school certificate with relevant industry experience.
* At least 5 years of experience in mortar, grout or concrete testing, or a similar industry background.
* Self‐motivated, able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to understand and follow test methods and instructions.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Sound computing skills.
* Physically fit and capable of undertaking concrete and mortar testing activities.
