Our client is a well respected Civil Contractor with offices based in Western Sydney. Specialising in Bulk Earthworks, Shoring Systems, Demolition and Deep Foundations we are looking for an experienced Geotechnical Driller to join their growing team.
As a Geotechnical Driller, you will be responsible for collecting soil and rock samples, conducting geotechnical investigations, and installing various types of instrumentation in the field.
**Responsibilities**:
- Conduct geotechnical drilling operations in accordance with project specifications and safety standards.
- Collect soil and rock samples for laboratory analysis and interpretation.
- Install geotechnical instrumentation, such as inclinometers, piezometers, and extensometers.
- Conduct site investigations, including logging soil and rock samples and conducting field tests.
- Operate drilling equipment, such as rotary drills, direct push rigs, and hollow stem augers.
- Maintain and repair drilling equipment as needed.
- Provide input for project planning and execution.
**Eligibility Requirements**:
- Degree in geology, engineering, or related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in geotechnical drilling operations.
- Knowledge of drilling equipment and techniques, as well as geotechnical testing and sampling methods.
- Ability to operate drilling equipment and conduct drilling operations in a safe and efficient manner.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Ability to work in various weather and terrain conditions.
