About the Role
As aPre-Sales Engineer, you'll be the critical link between our technology and our customers—translating technical capabilities into real-world benefits.
You will work closely with the sales, product, and engineering teams to understand customer needs, present tailored solutions, and ensure a smooth technical journey from first conversation to deployment.
Key Responsibilities
Support the sales team with technical expertise during customer engagements and bid processes
Deliver compelling product presentations, demos, and proof-of-concept activities
Understand customer challenges and translate them into technical solutions using Camlin products
Collaborate with product management and engineering to provide feedback on customer requirements and market needs
Assist in preparing detailed technical proposals, documentation, and system configurations
Contribute to responses for tenders, RFIs, and RFPs
Represent Camlin at trade shows, customer meetings, and industry events as a technical expert
What You'll Need to Succeed
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, or a related technical field
Solid understanding of power systems, grid automation, or industrial monitoring solutions (knowledge of the rail sector is a plus)
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas in a customer-focused way
Experience working in a technical sales, solutions engineering, or applications engineering role
Ability to manage multiple opportunities and customer engagements simultaneously
Willingness to travel for customer meetings, site visits, and events
Experience in the utilities or energy sector (especially with DNOs or rail infrastructure providers)
Familiarity with SCADA systems, IoT platforms, or grid-edge technologies
Knowledge of regulatory and technical standards in the UK power sector
Background in software or hardware systems integration
