Senior Manager, Line 1 Risk
This role is critical in ensuring lending and deposit products are managed within risk appetite and regulatory requirements. As a Senior Manager, Line 1 Risk, you will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of First Line Risk Framework, and work closely with the COO to develop and implement this framework.
About You
You have a strong background in banking and financial services, with at least 10 years of experience in risk management and/or compliance. You possess a deep understanding of regulatory requirements and credit risk, and are proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. You are a professional with excellent written, reporting, and verbal communication skills, and the ability to develop strong collaborative relationships.
Your Typical Day
As a Senior Manager, Line 1 Risk, your day will involve partnering with the business to advise on compliance and risk management, owning the hindsight review process, and general policy administration. You will also provide advice to the business on responsible lending, compliance obligations, and regulator interactions, and be responsible for the Line 1 Incident Management Process and Vendor Management Framework.
Key Responsibilities
• Partner with the business to advise on compliance and risk management
• Own the hindsight review process, including loan reviews and settlement checklist reviews
• General policy administration of specific policies, including Credit Policy and Responsible Lending policy
• Provide advice to the business on responsible lending, compliance obligations, and regulator interactions
• Own the Line 1 Incident Management Process
• Implement and administer simple and easy-to-understand policies and procedures for Line 1 functions
• Develop and deliver Compliance training to appropriate staff across the Bank
• Monitor adherence to policies and procedures and attend to any issues or areas of concern
• Ensure appropriate systems are in place to identify and manage business risk
