About The Role
As a Youth Worker, you'll play a pivotal role in creating a secure and nurturing haven for youth in need. Working under the guidance of the Program Manager, you will provide essential day‐to‐day care, empowering young people with challenging behaviours through engaging activities and structured routines that foster vital life skills.
This role typically requires overnight availability between 5:00 PM and 7:30 AM each week.
About You
To be successful in this position you should have demonstrated experience working with young people with complex trauma and at‐risk behaviours. You should have a strong understanding of child protection, youth welfare systems, and trauma‐informed practice. You should approach behaviour management and life skills development with compassion and calmness.
Qualifications
* Certificate IV in Youth Work or equivalent and previous experience in working with youth from a disadvantaged background
* Knowledge of child/youth behaviour difficulties and various therapeutic techniques applicable to youth
* Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to develop rapport with youth and staff
* A current Blue Card (Working with Children Check) and Driver's Licence
* Possession of current First Aid and CPR Certificate
