The Deputy Director, Forensic Operations is one of the most senior and influential leadership roles within Forensic Science Queensland.
Forensic Science Queensland (FSQ) supports Queensland's criminal justice and coronial systems through specialised Forensic Biology and Forensic Chemistry services. Forensic Chemistry focuses on analysing illicit drugs, investigating clandestine drug labs, and examining trace evidence like oils, explosives, and fibres, often linked to serious crimes. Forensic Biology handles evidence recovery, DNA analysis, and interpretation, providing expert advice and court evidence. Additionally, the Case Review Team reviews specific DNA samples to identify opportunities for further testing that could aid criminal investigations.
Accountable to the Director, the Deputy Director, Forensic Operations will lead Forensic Science Queensland's strategic and operational objectives, ensuring the delivery high‐quality, contemporary forensic services and expert advice to the Queensland Police Service and the Coroner's Court of Queensland.
