Senior Metallurgist
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Metallurgist to join our Processing Technical Services team at Mount Isa Mines in Queensland, Australia.
The successful applicant will provide technical support to the Zinc Concentrator processing activities and drive process improvements to deliver business strategy. This is a full-time permanent role with an attractive remuneration package and benefits.
Main Responsibilities
* Provide technical support to Concentrator Operations and maintenance to drive process improvements and deliver set production targets on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
* Responsible for inspections, failure predictions and technical analysis on critical equipment.
* Support the Mine-Mill-Smelter value chain strategy.
* Provide leadership and guidance to promote a culture of safety and personal development of Metallurgists.
* Optimize plant efficiencies through continuous improvement at reduced operational costs.
Requirements
* 4+ years experience in Mineral Processing plants with a strong operations background and base metals exposure in grinding and flotation.
* Demonstrated metal accounting and reconciliation experience.
* Technical knowledge in laboratory testwork techniques and managing plant surveys.
* Sound process improvement capabilities.
* Experience working with online analysers (OSA/MSA/PSI).
* Demonstrated ability to work safely in a Concentrator and to lead by example to a professional team.
* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
