Maintenance Officer

About the role
The Maintenance Officer is responsible for providing both preventative and reactive maintenance of the Home to ensure a safe and well‐maintained living and working environment. The Maintenance Officer supports the Home Manager or Maintenance Manager to ensure the home and all equipment is maintained to meet the individual needs, wishes and goals of each resident.
Key Responsibilities
* Support service delivery under the direction of Management and/or the Maintenance Manager
* Promote and contribute to person‐centred care
* Perform general maintenance tasks as directed, including but not limited to changing light bulbs, cleaning ceiling fans and vents, and general repairs of plant and equipment
* Liaise with contractors, perform facility inductions, ensure all WHS documentation and procedures are followed
* Undertake routine corrective maintenance and/or notify the external provider if required to undertake repairs
What you bring
* Experience in Maintenance/Gardening role
* Commitment to continuous quality improvement
* Working knowledge of WH&S and infection control
* Demonstrated commitment to customer focused services
* Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
* Self‐motivated, ability to work autonomously and within a team
* Driver's license
* A trade background or maintenance experience in aged care, education or community based fields is an advantage
* Trade qualification and/or experience is desired
