The Role:
Location: Metro Adelaide SA
Duration: 48-month full time Apprenticeship
As a Tiler Apprentice, you will lay ceramic, clay, slate, marble, glass and other types of tiles on external and internal walls and floors to provide protective and decorative finishes.
This role will require you to travel between work sites. Travel allowance may be claimable (conditions apply).
Under the guidance of experienced mentors, your responsibilities will include:
* Carry out measurements and calculations
* Read and interpret building plans and specifications
* Apply basic levelling techniques to ensure smooth surfaces
* Use specialised tiling tools and equipment safely and effectively
* Prepare surfaces for tiling including cleaning and smoothing
* Fix and repair wall and floor tiles to a high standard
* Apply waterproofing to internal wet areas like bathrooms and laundries
About You:
To be successful in this Apprenticeship, you will need:
* Ability to follow instructions and work independently when needed
* A genuine interest in hands-on, practical work
* Strong problem-solving skills and proactive attitude
* A solid work ethic and commitment to learning
* Great attention to detail
* Possess good physical fitness to perform manual tasks
Role Requirements:
* Driver's licence with reliable vehicle
* Be willing to complete a pre-employment assessment including a drug and alcohol screen
* Previous on-site or labouring experience (desirable)
* Completed a Certificate II in Construction Pathways or similar (desirable)
