The Dementia Support Assistant provides personalized, one-on-one support and engagement to residents living with dementia, primarily in Eldercare Memory Support Units. This role collaborates closely with site-based leadership, with support from the Clinical Nurse Consultant – Dementia, to ensure high-quality care and support for residents.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide individualized care and emotional support to residents living with dementia.Engage residents in meaningful activities aligned with their backgrounds and interests to foster comfort, familiarity, and positive emotions.Create a safe, supportive environment that promotes independence, dignity, and well-being.Respond empathetically to residents' emotional needs to foster a calm and reassuring environment.Assist care staff with activities of daily living when called upon by site management.About The RoleLocations across 13 sites in Adelaide Metro and Yorke Peninsula.Permanent part-time and casual opportunities.Qualifications and SkillsCertificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or Aged Care, or equivalent.Minimum of 6 months experience in aged care.Experience in participating and organizing recreational or leisure activities.Specific experience working with older adults; dementia-specific experience is advantageous.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Enthusiastic, motivated, and eager to learn.Strong time management and organizational skills.Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate initiative.Positive interaction skills with residents and their families.What We OfferAttractive staff benefits, including salary sacrificing.Opportunity to contribute to residents' quality of life.Values-driven organization.Supportive team environment with role variety.Ongoing professional development.Modern facilities with onsite parking.We encourage dedicated, results-oriented individuals passionate about delivering high-quality care to apply.
