The opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced Major Gift specialist to join the Philanthropy Team.
As Philanthropy Senior Coordinator you will lead the Major Gifts team, strategically developing this program, managing relationships with a portfolio of engaged major donors whilst prospecting to steward new relationships to nurture, grow and secure sustainable income streams.
Working within the broader team of marketing, fundraising and engagement professionals, you will collaborate to ensure the successful growth and delivery of the Philanthropy Program.
Based in Subiaco, this position is full-time. There will be a requirement to occasionally work outside of regular business hours to support donor development activities with stakeholders.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Work collaboratively with the Philanthropy Manager to develop and lead the strategic development and delivery of the Major Gift program
2. Develop and nurture the major gift journey to energise existing major donors and attract prospects
3. Identify and cultivate relationships with known and potential major gift supporters
4. Develop tailored proposals and donor strategies to suit individual needs and programs
5. Coordinate in-person meetings and bespoke events
6. Lead the Major Gift team to deliver an excellent supporter experience
7. Build and manage relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
8. Manage budgets to deliver revenue targets and manage efficient expenditure
9. Provide input to the Philanthropy Manager on the activity of campaigns and events through active monitoring and reporting
10. Represent Cancer Council WA on national working groups as required
About you
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. Minimum 4+ years’ experience in relationship-based fundraising, marketing, business development or relevant project management role
2. Innovative approach to income generation and experience in developing and delivering fundraising initiatives and strategies
3. Excellent presentation, negotiation and interpersonal skills with success in building and cultivating long-lasting relationships
4. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams and work with key internal and external stakeholders to deliver shared outcomes
5. Confidence to engage with supporters in person, over the phone and with highly developed written communication
6. Experience in data-driven fundraising or marketing, including segmentation, analytics and reporting
7. Demonstrated experience working with competitive revenue targets and reporting
8. High level organisational skills and ability to work under pressure managing several tasks with demonstrated ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
9. Strong desire to make a difference and strong connection to the WA community
10. Intermediate computer and keyboard skills – Microsoft Office Suite and other databases
11. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the values of Cancer Council WA
