The Position

We are seeking an experienced writer and social media content producer to work with the ANU College of Science and Medicine.
Working within the College's Marketing and Communications Team, your tasks include delivering compelling communication strategies and producing written or multimedia stories about our research and educational offerings. The role also involves managing our social media channels, analysing engagement data, and collaborating with a passionate network of communicators across the University.
The Person
We are seeking an experienced storyteller who can distil complex information into a compelling narrative, identifying the right hook that resonates with the public on the issues most important to them.
A background in science or medicine is desirable, but not a must. The most important skills for this role are:
* proven experience writing engaging content, such as features, news and/or social posts
* understanding the unique needs of different audiences and the digital platforms that they use
* the ability to work collaboratively within a diverse network, including the interview skills needed to uncover stories that connect with our audiences
* experience managing social media channels and the capability to create content that cuts through to new audiences.
The College
The ANU College of Science and Medicine encompasses the disciplines of astronomy and astrophysics, biology, chemistry, Earth and marine sciences, medical research, medicine, psychology, and physics.
