Senior Infrastructure Portfolio Manager
This is a challenging role that requires a deep understanding of infrastructure markets and the ability to execute business plans effectively.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in investment due diligence, with a focus on identifying and mitigating potential risks. They will also be skilled in ESG integration, able to identify risks and opportunities in real assets, and ensure investments are aligned with long-term sustainable goals.
In addition to their technical skills, the candidate should have excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a history of effectively engaging stakeholders and articulately presenting investment ideas, considerations, and risks.
Key Responsibilities:
* Designing and implementing a comprehensive asset management framework
* Enhancing governance practices of asset company boards to ensure compliance and oversight
* Monitoring operational performance of direct assets and/or co-investments to identify risk mitigation and/or value creation opportunities
* Overseeing valuation of direct and co-investment portfolio working alongside internal valuations team and liaising with external valuers
* Managing the infrastructure portfolio with a keen eye on legislative, tax, and industry requirements
* Relationship management with key external stakeholders, including infrastructure partners, portfolio investment companies, investment banks, industry associations, consultants, etc.
* Communication with key stakeholders (e.g., ELT, committees, peers, and asset consultants) providing insightful updates on asset's performance and the overall asset class landscape
* Preparation and presentation of comprehensive submissions to the Private Markets Sub-Committee, outlining recommendations for add-on opportunities, divestments, key risks, etc.
* Monitor market trends and economic indicators to inform proactive asset management decisions, including capital expenditure, leasing strategies, and potential divestitures or acquisitions
* Integration of ESG considerations into investment decisions to reflect commitment to sustainability and impact investing
* Contribution to a positive and collaborative work environment, building strong bonds with the investment team, and all teams that support and contribute to the success of the investment program
Qualifications:
* Relevant educational qualifications, including Business, Finance, Economics, Commerce, or law degree and the CFA program
Required Experience:
* Knowledge of Australian and International infrastructure markets, with experience in aligning investment strategies for large institutional investors
* Proficiency in investment due diligence, with an eye for detail and a focus on identifying and mitigating potential risks
* Demonstrated ability to execute business plans effectively and deliver EBITDA improvements across various operations
* Expertise in ESG integration, with the ability to identify risks and opportunities in real assets, ensuring investments are aligned with long-term sustainable goals
* Financial management and reporting skills
* Desirable board experience as observer, alternate director, or nominee director
* People and relationship management skills to provide for sound relationships between stakeholders
* Negotiation and communication skills, with a history of effectively engaging stakeholders and articulately presenting investment ideas, considerations, and risks
* Signedficate experience in a senior infrastructure role at a fund manager/superannuation fund, corporate finance advisory firm, or investment banking
