The position
An opportunity exists for a Social Work Practice Manager to join our team. A key member of the Management Team, and reporting to the Advocacy Director, this individual provides professional leadership, supervision, and guidance to social work and advocacy staff, ensuring safe, trauma-informed service delivery in a human rights framework. Our social workers provide crisis intervention, general counselling, casework, and referrals utilising a holistic approach. We deliver educational presentations to stakeholders in our community, participate in law reform projects, do regional outreach, work with students and volunteers, and collaborate with solicitors and advocates to provide integrated and holistic services. At Tasc, your priority areas of focus will be elder abuse and mental health, though you will also work across other practice areas as needed.
You will maintain a small caseload of complex matters, but a strong focus of this role will be on supervision and mentoring, oversight of performance measures, case consultation and debriefing, workload monitoring, continuous improvement, risk management, and preparation of funder reports and submissions.
The person
The ability to consider your work through the lens of client impact is essential. You must be eligible for a Positive Notice for Working with Children, and Disability Services (Blue and Yellow cards).
It is essential that you have a Bachelor of Social Work and are eligible for membership with the AASW, hold an unrestricted Qld driver's licence, and be eligible to work in Australia with unrestricted work rights. A Masters of Social Work, and qualifications in disability services are highly desirable. We are seeking 5+ years of experience in leading or supervising social work or advocacy teams, and participating in accreditation and other governance processes.

You will be familiar with working in and developing a trauma-informed and reflective practice framework.
You will be based in Ipswich, with regular travel to Toowoomba, and to other offices for training, supervision, and service coverage as required. Some regional overnight travel is necessary in this role. We may also consider candidates based in the Toowoomba region. This is a full-time position.
Salary is offered at L7+ of the SCHADS Award, depending on qualifications and experience.
