This role seeks a Strategic Director who will engage meaningfully and work collaboratively to ensure decisions reflect the objectives of Wirrawandi Aboriginal Corporation while being accessible and supportive to members and stakeholders.
The Strategic Director (Finance) will provide impartial oversight and strategic advice on all financial and business management matters to support Wirrawandi Aboriginal Corporation in achieving its objectives as outlined in the Rule Book and under the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006.
Key Responsibilities
* Financial Expertise: Provide expert advice on financial management, budgeting, and business operations.
* Strategic Planning: Lead strategic financial planning to ensure long-term sustainability and growth.
* Board Support: Support the Board in interpreting financial reports, audits, and forecasts for informed decision-making.
* Commercial Advice: Deliver commercial advice on business ventures, partnerships, and investment opportunities.
* Agreement Review: Assist with negotiation and review of commercial agreements to protect WAC's interests.
* Capacity Building: Build Board capacity in financial literacy and business management through training and mentoring.
* Policy Development: Develop and implement financial policies and frameworks to strengthen accountability and transparency.
* Fiduciary Duty: Champion responsible financial management and commercial decision-making for the benefit of Traditional Owners.
