Finance Manager – Manufacturing | Hobart
Searson Buck are pleased to partner with a large, fast‐paced manufacturing business in Hobart to appoint an experienced Finance Manager. This role will lead a transactional finance team, work closely with key stakeholders, and guide ongoing process improvements across the function. It's a hands‐on position ideal for someone who values structure, consistency, and steady operational leadership.
The Role
You will provide clear direction and day‐to‐day support to a growing finance team, ensuring strong financial controls and well‐managed processes. This position plays an important part in enhancing efficiency, strengthening reporting, and contributing to reliable financial performance across the business.
Responsibilities
1. Lead and mentor a transactional finance team across AP, AR, and payroll
• Oversee accurate processing of invoices, purchase orders, and payment runs
• Ensure quality customer invoicing, debtor follow‐up, and credit management
• Review and maintain bank, credit card, and supplier reconciliations
• Oversee weekly payroll with a focus on accuracy and compliance
• Work closely with operational and commercial teams to support financial outcomes
• Strengthen reporting processes and support management analysis
• Lead process improvements and implement stronger financial controls
• Maintain governance, accurate record‐keeping, and audit readiness
• Contribute to business projects within a collaborative environment

To Succeed, You Will Have:
2. Experience in finance leadership or senior transactional finance positions
• Strong knowledge of AP, AR, payroll, and reconciliation processes
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team
• Experience in high‐volume or manufacturing environments (advantageous)
• Confidence engaging with a range of stakeholders
• A continuous improvement focus and practical problem‐solving skills
• Strong accuracy, organisation, and communication abilities
• An approachable, professional, team‐oriented attitude
