Overview
Southern NSW Local Health District (LHD) offers Dental Officer roles delivering general and emergency dental services in rural communities. You will provide diagnostic, preventive, and restorative care, contribute to oral health education and outreach, and work across modern clinics within the local health district to improve oral health outcomes for patients of all ages.

Yass is a town on the periphery of the Southern Tablelands and South West Slopes of New South Wales, Australia. It is located 280 km southwest of Sydney, on the Hume Highway, and 59 km from Canberra. The town features heritage streetscapes, outdoor recreation, and local attractions including the Yass Town Walk and nearby wineries.

Provide evidence-based clinical care within your scope of practice and regularly manage patients with complex treatment needs at oral health facilities across the local health district.

Selection Criteria
* Dental qualification eligible for registration as a dentist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Demonstrate highly advanced skills in managing difficult clinical situations and a proven record of carrying out a broad range of advanced and complex dental procedures.
* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to a preventative/population health approach to patient care.
* Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality and abide by the NSW Health Code of Conduct in line with prescribed NSW Health policies and procedures.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of individuals.
* Proficiency in the use of computer systems including electronic patient records and digital imaging.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Ability and willingness to travel for work purposes, including driving long distances within the Health Service. Evidence of a current Class C driver's licence.
Other Requirements
Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specific Diseases: This is a Category 'A' position. All new employees must comply with NSW Health policy directive PD2024_015 and provide proof of vaccination against influenza (compulsory for NSW staff entering Residential Aged Care Facilities or working in NSW Health RACFs).
