Tanunda Automotive Pty Ltd is a growing automotive workshop located in Tanunda, South Australia. We provide a wide range of services including vehicle servicing, diagnostics, repairs, air-conditioning service, and crash repair work. Due to continued business growth, we are looking for a skilled and motivated Motor Mechanic / Automotive Technician to join our team.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing and repairing a wide range of vehicles while maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform general servicing and maintenance on light vehicles
* Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment
* Repair or replace engines, transmissions, brakes, steering and suspension systems
* Conduct vehicle inspections and identify mechanical issues
* Perform engine tune-ups and component replacements
* Carry out air-conditioning diagnosis and regas (if licensed)
* Conduct auto electrical troubleshooting where required
* Maintain workshop tools and equipment in good condition
* Ensure all work is completed according to safety and quality standards
* Test drive vehicles to ensure repairs are successful
* Maintain accurate job records and communicate with the workshop team
Requirements
* Minimum 1 year experience as a motor mechanic
* Certificate III or IV in Automotive Mechanical Technology
* Good knowledge of vehicle diagnostics and repair procedures
* Auto electrical knowledge preferred
* ARC/AC licence for air-conditioning (advantage but not essential)
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Valid driver's licence
* Must have Australian work authorisation
* Must have valid work visa
