Description
We're seeking a committed and collaborative Staff Specialist Paediatrician to join our team within the Hastings Macleay Clinical Network, based primarily at Port Macquarie Base Hospital. This is a fantastic opportunity to deliver high-quality, contemporary paediatric care while enjoying the lifestyle benefits of the NSW Mid North Coast.
This full-time role provides inpatient and outpatient specialist paediatric services, supporting optimal outcomes for infants, children and adolescents across the network. While the position is primarily based at Port Macquarie Base Hospital, there is an expectation of providing care, advice and outreach to Kempsey District Hospital and other peripheral facilities and community clinics as required, reporting to the Head of Department.
Responsibilities
* deliver safe, comprehensive and evidence-based care
* work closely with nursing, allied health and administrative colleagues to ensure continuity and quality of service
* equitable participation in the on-call roster
* strong contribution to clinical governance, quality improvement and risk management activities
* provide supervision and training to junior medical officers, registrars and other relevant staff (education and mentorship are central to this position)
* support a culture of learning and continuous professional development
* contribute to service planning, development of clinical standards
* active participation in departmental and network meetings

* Specialist General Paediatrician registered with AHPRA
* Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians
