Are you a nurse who wants more than just a job? Do you want to make a genuine difference in people's lives while working in a supportive, community-focused team?
At AWAHS, we've built a proud reputation for delivering holistic healthcare to our community on the Border for many years. From family medicine to chronic disease care, wound management to immunisations, obstetrics to counselling—we provide wrap-around services that look after mind, body and spirit.
We don't just provide healthcare. We care. Deeply.
The Role
We are seeking a Registered Nurse who thrives on variety and purpose to join us part-time (3 days per week). In this role, you will:
* Be the first point of support for clients, coordinating urgent GP appointments and managing waitlists with empathy and professionalism.
* Work collaboratively with GPs, allied health and external providers to ensure clients receive seamless, quality care.
* Provide hands-on nursing support including wound care, diagnostic procedures, chronic disease management and health assessments.
* Assist with medication management and initial emergency presentations.
* Support health promotion and preventative programs across all ages—from children to Elders.
What We Are Looking For
We would love to hear from you if you are:
* An AHPRA Registered Nurse with strong clinical experience.
* Skilled in wound management, chronic disease care, and health assessments.
* Experienced and confident in diagnostic procedures and minor interventions.
* Accredited Nurse Immunizer (or planning/working towards qualification)
* Passionate about health promotion, prevention and community wellbeing.
* Able to thrive in a fast-paced, team environment where collaboration matters.
* Strong interpersonal skills, integrity, and excellent time management.
* Understanding of health issues impacting Aboriginal people.
* A current Working with Children Check and Driver's Licence
* A willingness to obtain a satisfactory Police Check
Why You Will Love Working With Us
Working at AWAHS is different. Here, you will find:
* A warm, inclusive culture where staff celebrate birthdays, milestones and community events together.
* Access to salary packaging benefits, staff wellness initiatives and EAP support.
* Opportunities to be part of cultural activities that strengthen community connection.
* A chance to work in a role where your contribution directly improves the health and wellbeing of families in our region.
Thinking of relocating? If you're applying from outside the region, we'll support you every step of the way. AWAHS provides access to government relocation support services and can assist you in finding housing, making your move to the Border region smooth and stress-free.
This is more than a nursing role—it's an opportunity to be part of something meaningful, surrounded by a team that values care, connection and culture.
If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
