About the role
Tablelands Civil Construction is recruiting for three individual roles: Labourer, Skilled Operator and Supervisor. See details about these roles below.
As a skilled labourer, your responsibilities will include maintaining a clean and safe work area. We’re looking for someone reliable and physically fit, ideally with previous labouring or construction experience, and at minimum, comfortable with physically demanding work. If you’re committed and dependable, we’ll support your growth with opportunities for training and development across construction, machinery, and various trades.
As a skilled operator, you will be responsible for operating a range of machinery including but not limited to, excavators, grader, skid steers, rollers. There may be periods when work requirements may vary, during these times, we are seeking someone who is willing to step out of the cab and assist the team with general on-site duties.
As Civil Supervisor, you’ll be the key person on the ground driving safe, productive and compliant delivery across active work fronts. Your responsibilities will include but not limited to, day-to-day supervision of crews, plant and subcontractors, planning and sequencing works in line with program requirements and site constraints, ensuring quality documentation and ITPs are completed to standards, leading pre-starts, toolbox talks and reinforcing a strong safety culture, working closely with the Project Manager and Engineering team on progress, resourcing and cost control, liaising with traffic control and other stakeholders to minimise disruption and maintain safe site operations
Qualifications & experience
Labourer
* Construction white card
* Drivers Licence + Heavy Rigid Licence (if applicable)
* The suitable candidates should have a strong ability to carry out tasks both supervised or unsupervised and have knowledge of civil operations/processes or willingness to learn.
Multi-skilled operators
* Construction white card
* Drivers Licence + Heavy Rigid Licence (if applicable)
* Accreditation in any of the following and/or multiple disciplines (excavator, loader, dozer, grader, roller, skid steer)
* The suitable candidates should have a strong ability to carry out tasks both supervised or unsupervised and have knowledge of civil operations/processes or willing to learn.
Supervisors
* Construction white card
* Drivers Licence + Heavy Rigid Licence (if applicable)
* Minimum 5 years experience in civil construction in a Supervisor Role
* Liaise with client representatives regarding technical queries, inspections and project scheduling
* Overseeing the standard and progress of subcontractors' work
* Execute the construction portion of project plans through detailed planning and day-to-day direction of field activities
* Responsible and accountable for the coordination of employees, subcontractors, plant and equipment required for the projects.
* Effectively program and manage daily site works
* Ensure compliance with client project specifications
* Conduct site inductions, training and toolbox meetings
* Implement ITPs, testing requirements and non-conformance processes
* Ensure projects comply with legislation, safety, environmental and quality standards
* Maintain a productive and positive team environment
