Due to continuing development and success in key industry sectors, Century Group are currently seeking a talented and passionate Project Planner to work in our fast paced and challenging engineering business at our Edinburgh North site.
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Planner - Defence Fabrication will be responsible for coordinating planning activities across production, procurement, and project teams.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Production & Project Planning
o Review and manage schedule of works within the M1 ERP/MRP system.
o Create and maintain work orders, BOMs and production schedules.
o Plan work order sequences based on project estimates and templates.
o Conduct 1, 4 and 8 week planning readiness reviews.
o Ensure materials and documentation are available prior to production.
o Apply your trade knowledge to all situations.
* Project Coordination
o Work closely with Estimating, Project Management and Design teams.
o Prepare complete work packs for production.
o Ensure all planning documentation and drawings are available to the shop floor.
o Review supplier quotes to ensure compliance with specifications.
o Order materials and subcontract items within the MRP system.
o Follow up purchase orders to maintain delivery schedules.
o Monitor supplier performance and raise NCRs where required.
* Schedule & Delivery Management
o Monitor project progress and update capacity schedules.
o Communicate delays or scheduling changes to relevant teams.
o Ensure work orders are completed within required timelines.
About You
We're looking for someone who is highly organised, detail-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
You will ideally have:
* 2+ years' experience in project planning, production planning or manufacturing planning
* Experience using ERP/MRP systems (M1 highly regarded)
* Strong organisational and scheduling skills
* Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination
* High attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability
* A Trade Certificate in Engineering or a qualification in Operations, Engineering or a related field will be highly regarded.
* Experience in engineering, fabrication, manufacturing, or defence-related projects is advantageous.
