THE POSITION:
The position will provide a high level of service to customers and visitors of the Albury Waste Management Centre (AWMC), operate the gatehouse/weighbridge, assist in the operation and management of the facility including administration support and the collection of data and subsequent reporting.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide front-line customer service functions at the Waste Management Centre in person, by phone and through email.
* Open and close the Waste Management Centre.
* Direct customers where to deposit waste and recyclable materials.
* Operate cash register, EFTPOS facilities and credit card payments and balance daily cash receipts.
* Ensure waste entering the site is permitted for disposal under the licence conditions.
* Record waste quantities, types, and source.
* Assist with environmental monitoring and recording.
* Contribute to the development and maintenance of spreadsheets and databases.
* Provide administration support in areas of database management, web-based support, procedure development, record keeping, reporting, and problem solving.
* Carry out all works in accordance with safe work practices and EPA licensing and regulatory requirements.
* Provide assistance and direction to customers and visitors.
* Promote waste diversion and minimisation.
* Supervise casual staff providing clear direction and guidance, as well as promoting a team environment.
* Train new staff within the weighbridge operations.
* Support the Team Leader, Site Supervisor and Coordinator in implementing the Waste and Resource Recovery Strategy.
* Perform other tasks or duties as directed by their Supervisor that are within the scope of the employee's skill, competence, and training.
* Observe requirements of the WHS Legislation, relevant to the job and adhere to AlburyCity Policies and Procedures regarding WHS.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
* Based on a 38 hour week, working a minimum of 22 hours each week with actual days and times being worked in accordance with a facility roster.
* Weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday) will be worked, with penalty loadings applying.
* This roster may be altered to changing operational needs and service demands.
* Additional hours up to 38 hours per week may be worked by agreement, and this will be paid at the ordinary rate of pay.
* Payment for all hours worked and periods of leave will be as per the facility roster.
* This position requires you to wear a compulsory uniform as per AlburyCity's Our People Dress Code Standards. Our People are required to present a smart and professional image to the public at all times including when in public and when working remotely.
* This position involves working in a predominantly indoor environment and using a computer is considered a core component of the role. There may be occasional visits to other work locations. The position requires an average level of aerobic and physical fitness to undertake occasional physical activities, including manual handling tasks as part of a normal working environment. A medical declaration will be required to be completed prior to commencement.
* This position requires evidence of a current Australian National Police Check.

* This position is located at Albury Waste Management Centre, with occasional visits to external sites/depots and AlburyCity Administration Building as required.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
* Customer Service Training or equivalent relevant work experience
* Class C (standard) Driver's Licence (compulsory to have and maintain)
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
* Certificate in Business Administration or related discipline
* First Aid Certificate
* Construction Induction Card
EXPERIENCE:
* Relevant experience working in customer service and cash handling environment
SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
* Demonstrated experience in;
o Point of Sale cash management systems and receipting
o Cash handling
o Telephone and reception skills
o Broad range of administrative functions
o Ability to collect and accurately record data and information
* High level of computer literacy in a variety of software applications including MS Office Suite.
