At Warrama Li, we strive to empower and support First Nations young people in out-of-home care. Our mission is to provide innovative programs and services that cater to the unique needs of our young people.
As a dedicated Youth Support Worker, you will play a pivotal role in providing care, guidance, and support to vulnerable First Nations young people. This position offers flexibility and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the young people we care for.
Key Responsibilities:
* Offer one-on-one support and mentoring to young people, addressing their individual needs and helping them develop essential life skills.
* Facilitate activities and programs that promote personal development, social skills, and healthy living.
* Collaborate with stakeholders; allied and therapeutic supports, families, schools, and other community organisations to ensure holistic support for the young people in our care.
* Maintain accurate case notes and records, and contribute to the overall monitoring and evaluation of our youth services.
* Support the wellbeing of young people.
Qualifications and Experience:
We are seeking candidates with relevant qualifications in youth work, community services, child and family intervention, social work, psychology, or a related field. A strong understanding of the challenges faced by young people and a commitment to empowering and supporting them is essential.
* Experience working with young people, preferably in a community services, residential or youth development setting.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with young people.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently as required.
* Current driver's licence and willingness to undergo a National Police Check and Working with Children Check.
