This is an exciting opportunity to join the Business Information Systems team at the DTMI, where you'll help deliver innovative applications that support a safer, healthier, and more connected Western Australia.
As a Principal Applications Developer, you'll work on complex projects using cutting-edge technologies, including .NET, Azure Cloud, and SharePoint Online, while contributing to the development and support of enterprise-level applications. This role is involved in high‑impact initiatives such as modernising workflows and business automation, the PlatesWA project, and applications that support the Transport website.
You'll collaborate with a passionate team, mentor junior developers, and play a key role in driving technical excellence and continuous improvement.
Please note that this position may require you to occasionally support major releases over weekends, where you will be compensated with overtime pay.

About you
The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical foundation and collaborative mindset to the team. You will demonstrate:

Extensive technical expertise
in application development, including solid experience with
.NET, Azure Cloud, and SharePoint Online,
as well as an experience in any
CMS platforms.

Proven ability to design, develop, and support complex applications
within a large, dynamic environment, including managing workflows and delivering solutions aligned with user requirements.
·
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills,
with experience in SQL Server, blob storage, and Redis, complemented by sound programming and scripting capabilities.
·
Collaborative approach and leadership mindset,
with the ability to mentor junior team members and foster a positive, high-performing team culture.
·
Excellent communication and documentation skills,
ensuring clarity in technical advice, processes, and stakeholder engagement.
