Occupational Therapist (Community/Residential Care)

Salary: $100,000 – $120,000 pro rata

What You'll Do:
• Complete a comprehensive assessment of clients and evaluate the need for interventions consistent with a person-centred approach.
• Support older adults through reablement, chronic condition management, and post-hospital recovery by co-developing goals and applying suitable interventions to facilitate the achievement of goals
• Trial and prescribe equipment relevant to needs and goals. Including but not limited to; mobility aids, seating, pressure area care, assistive devices, splints, braces and supports.
• Work collaboratively with other multidisciplinary team members to achieve the best outcomes.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions using appropriate tools and outcome measures.
• Identify areas for improvement and participate in continuous improvement projects.
• Maintain continual professional development requirements as per AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) registration.
• Deliver education sessions staff and community
• Provide services in the clinic, at home, or in residential aged care settings, and play a critical role in the design of future Harbison programs and services.
What You'll Bring:
• Current registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist
• Experience working with older adults, frailty, or complex physical health needs, including dementia and Parkinson's disease
• Expertise in risk assessment, mobility aids, pain management, and safe, person-centred practices
• A warm, respectful, and person-centred approach to care
• Ability to adapt physical interventions for cognitive, emotional, and sensory needs
• Strong documentation and teamwork skills
