The opportunity:
The Maintenance Controller supports the Orchard Manager in ensuring the orchard and harvest equipment is available at all times for the orchard operation. This includes the servicing, maintenance and repair of equipment per servicing and operational requirements.
Reporting to the Orchard Manager you will have the autonomy to:
- Assist the Orchard Manager in the planning, monitoring and managing of key deliverables by achieving the long-term sustainability of orchard equipment.
- Liaise with contractors to ensure timelines and scoped works are conducted within the planned maintenance programs in a safe workplace
- Assist the management team with the development of master equipment matrix and recording of individual equipment activities
- Support and participate in the development of a team culture within Olam Orchards
This is a ‘hands on’ role for someone who is trade qualified or has relevant experience and has an output focus, who is able to think on their feet, troubleshoot and lead the team.
About you:
Our ideal candidate will have the following:
- Experience in the horticultural or Almond sector, specifically in orchard equipment and/or Almond harvest equipment repairs and maintenance is required.
- Previous positions held in a workshop and/or workshop management essential, and current car and HR truck licence.
- Good understanding of programmed maintenance of machinery, with capable computer and risk assessment skills.
- Passionate about continual improvement.
- Mechanical or metal fabrication trade.
To be considered for an interview you must have team management experience, agricultural operations experience and reasonable computer skills. You will also have the energy and drive to persevere through long seasons, and excellent interpersonal and team leadership skills to drive a high-performance team culture.
