Responsibilities
- Perform clinical services for inpatients admitted under the general medicine service and to participate in the bed allocation process and management of transfer of care and patient flow according to patient need and the Hospital’s requirements.
- You will provide specialist consultation within your field, including provision of outpatient services.
- Participate in after-hours services and rosters in general medicine at CMN.
- Provide clinical leadership to junior colleagues by ensuring a high standard of patient care which conforms to best practice and is evidence based.
- Demonstrate a commitment to equity of health care delivery.
About you
- A Primary Medical Degree registrable with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
- Demonstrated experience and qualification(s) in General Medicine.
- Demonstrated capacity for clinical leadership, a commitment to undergraduate and post-graduate teaching in medicine, nursing and allied health and willingness to participate in clinical research.
- Understanding of the principles of clinical governance to promote quality and safety in health care, with experience in and commitment to evidence based best practice.
- Demonstrated understanding of transfer of care and patient flow principles and ability to practice these principles to meet the needs of the community and hospital.
- Demonstrated oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, and proficiently in periods of high demand/activity.
