Are you a skilled Cyber Threat Analyst with a passion for proactive threat hunting and protecting critical infrastructure? Experis Australia is partnering with a Federal Government agency in Canberra to source a talented professional for a long-term engagement.
About the Role
As a Cyber Threat Analyst, you will play a key role in identifying and mitigating cyber threats across the agency's network. You'll work with cutting-edge tools like Splunk or Sentinel, leveraging threat intelligence and attack frameworks to stay ahead of adversaries.
Key Responsibilities
* Proactively hunt for threats across the client's network.
* Utilise Cyber Threat Intelligence to support threat hunting activities.
* Create and maintain threat detection tools, including custom use cases and dashboards.
* Develop and refine hypotheses based on emerging threats and adversary behaviours.
* Analyse security events and logs to identify anomalous activity.
* Recommend security enhancements and assist in developing countermeasures.
Skills & Experience Required
* Minimum 3 years' experience as a Cyber Security Incident Responder or Threat Hunter.
* Strong proficiency in log analysis and threat detection using SIEM platforms (Splunk, Sentinel, etc.).
* Experience using attack frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK in incident response or threat hunting.
* Proven ability to design, implement, and test use cases to detect malicious activity.
* Collaborative team player with strong knowledge-sharing skills.
* Excellent written communication and documentation skills.
Highly Desirable
* Technical tertiary qualifications.
* Certifications such as Microsoft, Splunk, CISSP, GCIH, GCIA.
* NV2 Security Clearance or ability to obtain.
