Primary objective
Manage and ensure quality outcomes of recruitment processes and logistical coordination of agency nurses to ensure that optimum
and safe nursing staff levels are maintained within remote Primary Health Care Centres and Prison Health Services in the Central
Australia Region.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Working within the PHC Administration Hub, be responsible for all agency recruitment associated activities.
2. Coordinate the planning and logistical arrangements necessary for recruitment, orientation and professional development
activities of remote area and prison health agency nursing staff.
3. Actively communicate with recruitment agencies to negotiate provision of nurse and midwife placements to cover staffing
shortfalls, programmed leave and other planned vacancies.
4. Provide collated data /information which enables the Director of Nursing and midwifery (DONM) to analyse workforce trends
to inform strategic workforce planning and provide recruitment feedback/reports to management.
5. Provide data and accrual details to Finance section as and when required.
6. Working as part of a team assist with recruitment of NTG staff as and when required.
7. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken
in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
8. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Excellent interpersonal oral and written communications skills with the ability to adapt all communication and styles to suit the
audience.
2. Demonstrated professional judgement, including the ability to take initiative while maintaining integrity and confidentiality with
the ability to resolve conflicts, manage change and negotiate appropriate outcomes.
3. Proven ability to build and sustain positive relationships with team members and key stakeholders and an ability to interact
effectively with people from diverse cultures.
4. Well-developed knowledge of contemporary best practice in recruitment, contract management and an understanding of
current and emerging issues that may impact on recruitment.
5. Demonstrated ability to apply analytical strategic and lateral thinking skills to make recommendations on recruitment workforce
planning and/or development initiatives.
6. High-level of adaptability and flexibility, including the ability to work both autonomously and also effectively as part of a team
7. Proactive and can-do attitude.
Desirable
1. Possess tertiary qualification in human resource management or middle management.
