Full time medical receptionist / secretary

Offer description

Experienced medical receptionist/administrator required to join our small friendly team in a private surgical medical clinic in Woolloongabba on a full time basis. Long term position with career progression in mind. Immediate start.

**Requirements**:
We require a well presented, highly responsible, enthusiastic and self motivated person with excellent customer service skills. We are therefore looking for a high calibre individual with excellent computer skills, looking to continue their career in medical administration. The role would suit someone who lives in fairly close proximity to Woolloongabba and available to work from 8am on any given day (Monday to Friday), on an ongoing basis. Hourly pay rate (Health Professionals and Support Service Award 2010) and will be based on experience. Benefits include onsite car parking.

**Responsibilities**

- Welcome patients, form filling, providing tea/coffee
- Scheduling clinical and surgical appointments
- Electronic and manual processing of patient correspondence / medical reports / referrals
- Typing/transcribing of medical correspondence
- Providing quotes, invoicing and processing payments
- Maintaining the cleaning and sanitising of all areas in the clinic (including Covid-19 sanitising protocols)
- Ensure all telephone messages/post are passed on in a timely manner
- Carry out admin tasks as requested by Practice manager and medical staff
- Loading/unloading laundry, ironing, vacuuming, mopping
- Transporting patients to/from vehicle in wheelchair as required

**Skills, experience and personal attributes**

- Minimum 1 year recent experience in similar role
- Must be specifically looking for a career in medical administration
- High standard of written and spoken English
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong telephone speaking skills
- Must have a strong interest in medicine, science and biology
- Outstanding interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and to multi task
- Willingness to learn as well as contribute ideas
- Fast learner and willingness to receive in person training
- Ability to carry out tasks in a timely manner
- Good sense of humour and empathetic nature
