Overview
The Position – An opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Town Planner (minimum 5+ years statutory planning experience) to join the team on a full-time, permanent basis, with an immediate start available. You will work on a varied and high-quality project portfolio, including mid- to high-rise developments, project management responsibilities, dual occupancy and small multiple dwelling applications, as well as ongoing minor change applications for established clients. You will be supported by a collaborative, highly skilled planning team while maintaining autonomy over your own projects. Projects span a wide range of development types, including:
* Master planned communities and residential estates
* High-rise and mixed-use developments
* Retail and shopping centre projects
* Commercial and industrial developments
* Urban infill and redevelopment projects
This diverse portfolio ensures continued exposure to complex, high-profile developments and keeps the team at the forefront of contemporary planning practice.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and deliver development applications from inception through to approval
* Project manage mid- to high-rise, mixed-use, and residential developments
* Prepare and coordinate planning reports and approval documentation
* Liaise with government authorities, developers, consultants, and community stakeholders
* Provide planning advice aligned with Queensland legislation and local planning schemes
* Manage timelines, consultants, and approvals to meet client and statutory deadlines
* Maintain a strong commercial, service-focused approach across all projects
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
* Minimum 4+ years' demonstrated statutory town planning experience
* Strong knowledge of the Queensland planning and approvals system
* Proven experience with the Gold Coast City Plan (other SEQ schemes advantageous)
* Ability to manage development applications and projects independently
* High-level written and verbal communication skills
* Commercially minded with a results-oriented approach
* Highly developed organisation and time management skills
* Positive, collegiate, and client-focused attitude
* Current driver's licence
* Formal qualifications in Town Planning recognised by PIA (essential)
