Role detailsThe Acute Care Team at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Senior Mental Health Clinician (Senior Occupational Therapist or Senior Psychologist or Senior Social Worker or Clinical Nurse Consultant) to join their team on a permanent basis.How to apply and for mandatory requirements regarding this role, please refer to the attached Role Description.Your opportunityThe position will be based in Mackay as part of the Acute Care Team.
The position will be based in the Mackay Emergency Department.
The position will provide advanced level Intake/triage, assessment, and crisis management functions as part of the Mackay Division of Mental Health Acute Care Team.
The position will work a varied roster 7 days a week with RDO accrual.
The position works both morning and afternoon shifts and may be required to work night shifts in the future.About The TeamThe Acute Care Team is the first point of contact to public mental health services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The Team will undertake triage and may facilitate the referral of the consumer to a more appropriate internal and/or external service such as a community mental health team, an alcohol and drug service or primary health care.About Our Hospital And Health ServiceMackay Hospital and Health Service has 6 hospitals, 2 multi-purpose health services and 4 community health centres that employ more than 3,700 staff.
