The role

The Manager Environment and Healthy Country leads a diverse team of technical and field specialists to ensure Gippsland Water delivers compliant environmental performance across its wastewater and trade waste operations.

In this role, you'll champion the organisation's General Environmental Duty, guide the development and delivery of its Climate Adaptation Plan, and embed culturally respectful practices through meaningful Aboriginal engagement. You'll provide expert environmental advice across the business while building influential relationships with industry and government to shape policy and align Gippsland Water's strategic direction with statewide priorities.

What you'll bring

* Proven Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams in environmental management and sustainability.
* Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic planning and tactical execution skills to address immediate and emerging environmental challenges.
* Relationship Building: Excellent ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
* Project Management Expertise: Experience in overseeing complex projects, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
* Passion for the Environment: A deep commitment to fostering healthy Country and working with Traditional Owners.
* Environmental Legislation Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of environmental legislation applicable to the Victorian water industry, particularly the Environment Protection Act 2017, including the General Environmental Duty (GED).
* Technical Project Management: Ability to manage technical projects and apply scientific principles and expertise applicable to environmental management within the water industry.
