Founded in 1983, Swan Christian College is a co‐educational Christian school in Swan Valley, educating around 1,600 students from Kindergarten to Year 12. The College focuses on developing character and academic excellence with Christ‐centred education that nurtures the spiritual, academic, emotional, and social growth of every student.
Swan Christian College is seeking a passionate and dedicated French Teacher to join our Junior School teaching team. This is a 12‐month fixed‐term, full‐time position commencing 20 July 2026.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging, developmentally‐appropriate French lessons for Years 1–6, using expertise in the WA P‐10. They will create a positive, Christ‐centred classroom environment, nurturing each student's academic, personal and spiritual growth while building strong relationships and a supportive learning culture.
Key Responsibilities
* Demonstrate commitment to the College's Christian ethos, values, and active involvement in all aspects of college life.
* Deliver engaging, differentiated teaching that supports all students to achieve strong academic progress.
* Use data to inform teaching, monitor student progress, and maintain accurate academic records.
* Provide targeted support through remediation and extension, ensuring all students are effectively challenged and supported.
* Build positive relationships with students, supporting their academic, emotional, social, and spiritual development.
* Communicate effectively with parents and staff, providing timely feedback and reporting.
Selection Criteria
Essential:
* Demonstrates a personal commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and is an active member of a Christian Church, living in accordance with the Association's Statement of Faith and Educational Objectives.
* Can build and maintain strong, healthy relationships with families, SCEA Head Office staff, and the College community.
* Demonstrates exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
* Engages actively, cooperatively, and enthusiastically within the spiritual, academic, sporting, cultural and social dimensions of College life.
* Holds a current Working with Children Check and valid TRBWA registration or willingness to apply for one.
Desirable:
* Strong proficiency in spoken and written English.
* Experience delivering the Western Australia P‐10 French curriculum.
* Proven capacity to foster an inclusive classroom and build student confidence in language learning.
