A well-established independent school in Sydney is seeking a proactive and experienced Fleet Manager to oversee the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of its transport services.
This leadership role involves managing a fleet of vehicles, supervising a team of drivers, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for route planning, emergency response coordination, vendor management, and budget oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage a team of drivers, including rostering, training, and performance oversight.
* Coordinate daily transport operations and liaise with third-party vehicle hire vendors.
* Ensure fleet maintenance and compliance with relevant transport regulations.
* Plan and optimise routes in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
* Develop and implement emergency response procedures.
* Maintain effective communication with staff and families regarding transport matters.
* Assist with budget planning, invoice processing, and record keeping.
Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience managing transport operations and vehicle fleets.
* Strong leadership and organisational skills.
* Advanced knowledge of NSW transport regulations and accreditation standards.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Financial acumen and experience with budgeting and procurement systems.
* Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
Conditions:
* Term-time only role with additional days required during school holidays for administrative and maintenance duties.
* Must be available for occasional out-of-term work related to fleet servicing and scheduling.
