About the role
Employees classified at this level provide proficient clinical care for specified individual patients/clients and/or groups/populations, and/or provide clinical leadership for an area of practice and may work in a variety of clinical settings. Employees classified at this level are clinical leads within their area and stream of practice and have a significant degree of autonomy and decision making.
The Occupational Therapist will work collaboratively within CALHN Multidisciplinary Community Geriatric Service and will be required to work in the community, home setting including Residential aged Care Facilities as appropriate.
This position works over a 5 day roster with no weekend work required. The CALHN Multidisciplinary Community Geriatric Service Provides culturally appropriate, comprehensive clinical intervention, assessment, and short term management for vulnerable older people living in CALHN who are experiencing health, environmental and/or social complexity. Interventions by this team will support those who may otherwise slip through the gaps. The team recognises the resilience of older people in their familiar environment and works with the person, family, carers, GP's and other health providers to support the person in their place of residence.
The occupational therapist may be required to work across CALHN sites and within Integrated Care, as required in line with clinical need.
The role will have a specific focus on older clients with complex health needs who are experiencing gaps in health responses and will provide intervention with a resilience independence building focus.
This an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced clinician with an interest in working with older people to be part of a specialist team.
Qualifications
4. A degree or other qualification which entitles registration as an OT with the National Board OT Board of Australia through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
