Job Overview
BAE Systems Australia is seeking an experienced Naval Architect to join our team in Sydney. As a key member of our Maritime group, you will be responsible for leading complex activities related to Naval Architecture and managing projects that have a significant impact on the Royal Australian Navy's operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage a portfolio of changes for hull and propeller hydrodynamics, power and resistance prediction, weight monitoring, stability analysis, manoeuvring and seakeeping analysis, docking and undocking calculations
* Develop and maintain technical expertise in naval architecture and marine structural engineering
* Provide technical leadership and oversight to project teams
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver project objectives
Requirements
Qualifications:
* Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering degree qualified
* Experience working as a naval architect with experience managing projects and people
* Experience undertaking design review and oversight activities throughout the engineering process
Skills:
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work effectively within a dynamic environment with conflicting priorities and multiple stakeholders
* Proven ability to manage multiple projects at any given time
