We are seeking a skilled and motivated Financial Accountant to play a key role in supporting Goodwin's financial sustainability through accurate reporting, strong financial controls, and insightful analysis.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Financial Accountant is responsible for delivering accurate financial and management reporting, maintaining the general ledger, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, and supporting audit processes.
This position contributes to informed decision-making across the organisation while ensuring financial integrity, transparency, and continuous improvement in financial systems and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Management Reporting
* Prepare accurate and timely monthly management reports, including analysis against budget, prior periods, and benchmarks
* Contribute to continuous improvement of reporting frameworks, tools, and processes
* Review and enhance financial systems and internal controls
* Identify opportunities to optimise system capability and improve efficiency
Financial Management, Budgeting & Audit
* Support the coordination and preparation of the annual budget
* Assist with ad hoc reporting and financial analysis
* Assist in the preparation of audited statutory accounts
* Act as a key contact for internal and external auditors
Compliance & Financial Control
* Prepare and lodge BAS, FBT, and other statutory reporting obligations
* Maintain the general ledger and perform account reconciliations
* Manage and maintain the fixed asset register
* Ensure compliance with legislation, organisational policies, and audit requirement
Stakeholder Support
* Provide professional financial advice and support to the Finance Manager and key stakeholders
* Communicate financial insights clearly and effectively across the organisation

Essential Qualifications & Registration
* Tertiary qualification in Finance or Accounting
* CPA or Chartered Accountant registration
Skills & Experience
* Must have a minimum 2 + years of experience in an accounting background
* Strong technical financial and accounting capability
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
* Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
* High-level proficiency in financial accounting systems
* Strong attention to detail
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
