The Role A dynamic and forward-thinking family-run mixed farming operation is looking for a highly skilled and committed Livestock Manager, as the current managing owner is looking to step back. Currently managing a substantial composite ewe flock of over 5,000 head focused on the prime lamb market, alongside a 600-head Angus cow herd targeting feedlot markets and replacement heifer retention. Complementing the livestock component is 1,000 hectares of high-quality cropping. The business prides itself on its modern practices, a fully equipped workshop, and advanced agricultural software, such as AgriWebb for stock and grazing management, as well as Optiweigh technology. This hands-on role is integral to the established on-farm team, which includes a Cropping Supervisor and a Farmhand. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing general livestock and pasture across the operation. Core responsibilities are vital to the farm's success and involve executing all key animal health processes and required inventory. You will also be responsible for organising, managing and overseeing all livestock contractors, requiring strong communication, interpersonal and recordkeeping skills. While the livestock element will be the primary focus of the role, you will at times need to assist with the cropping elements during busy seasons, etc. The Offer A negotiable quality hourly rate is on offer for the successful candidate, along with genuine progression opportunities in addition to being accommodated in a comfortable and privately located 3-bedroom home with established lawn and gardens. You would also be provided a work vehicle and buggy. Ideal for families, the school bus stops at the farm gate, located just 20 km west of Mortlake, Victoria, where you will have access to all necessities, with all additional services available in Warrnambool, an easy 50km drive.
