Key Responsibilities
* Manage and direct the workflow of workshop supervisors and technicians across Victoria and Tasmania to ensure optimal performance and efficiency
* Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs that guarantee the safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of plant and assets
* Maintain strict adherence to health and safety protocols, quality standards, and IMS requirements
* Analyze and control costs, asset utilization, and profitability outcomes to drive business success
* Collaborate with senior management on fleet strategy and planning to optimize resource allocation
* Oversee workshop operations, repair services, and equipment records to ensure seamless execution
* Provide training and development opportunities for technical staff to enhance their skills and knowledge
Requirements
* Relevant trade qualification in the heavy equipment or mechanical field
* Demonstrated leadership and operational management expertise
* Experience in hire, construction, transport, or heavy industry sectors
* Proficiency in MS Office and computerized maintenance systems
* Excellent planning, problem-solving, and communication skills
* Strong diagnostic skills across mechanical, hydraulic, auto-electrical, and heavy vehicles
* Prior experience in hire industry or workshop settings highly regarded
* Current forklift license (or ability to obtain)
