About the Role
The Production Planner Manager sits within the Virginia Supply Chain Team and leads a high‑performing team focused on operational excellence and continuous improvement.
The Senior Production Planner ensures an efficient and achievable production schedule that satisfies the requirements of the Industrial and Commercial arms of the business.
Detailed capacity analysis ensures the current and future demand plan can be met.
The role also manages a small team of production planners and supports the Plant Supply Chain Head in all duties.
Main Responsibilities
* Manage the daily work requirement of the Production Schedulers
* Work cross‑functionally with the Commercial Business on stock updates and requests to provide the right supply visibility in a timely manner
* Prepare and implement the Master Production Schedule via analysis of demand, manufacturing, engineering and business information
* Perform capacity planning with scenario analysis
* Achieve Customer Service requirements and Service Level Agreements (SLA)
* Oversee finished‑goods target inventory levels
* Conduct and document regular performance reviews, annual reviews and personal / career development discussions with direct reports in line with Opella's Performance Management Process
Qualifications
* Relevant studies in Supply Chain or APICS preferred.
Experience
* 5+ years of production planning experience in a fast‑paced FMCG or retail business
* Proven examples of robust leadership and stakeholder management
Technical and Soft Skills
* High‑level communication, leadership and people‑management skills
* Constraints‑based planning and scheduling
* Work‑centre capacity planning knowledge
* Supply‑chain inventory management
* SAP system knowledge (preferred)
* Advanced Excel experience
