Wagner Consultants has been retained to search and select this pivotal Sales & Marketing Manager's appointment to continue to drive the business through its next stage of growth.
The Role
Reporting to the General Manager, the Sales and Marketing Manager oversees all bulk and bagged product sales, including exports and agricultural gypsum, and manages out-borne logistics, customer service and marketing efforts in pursuit of the company's financial objectives. Managing a team of five including the dispatch team, you will be responsible for delivering on strategies and business plans.
Responsibilities
* Sustain and grow the customer base through excellent service and value
* Year on year improvement in percentage margin and profitability
* Actively pursue product and service innovation in existing and new markets.
* Provide added value services (e.g. lab services) to new and existing customers.
* Maintain and grow Sunstate Cement's leadership in SEQ cementitious market.
* Identify and implement plans to deliver superior value to customers and improved margins to Sunstate Cement.
* Develop and execute on operational plans.
* Foster strong relationships with various bulk / concrete / retail accounts.
* Build trust and loyalty through superior customer service.
* Monitor and resolve operational impediments to customer satisfaction.
* Actively pursue product and service innovation in existing and new markets.
* Research and understand what the brand means to customers (brand identity and position)
* Develop a brand strategy and drive initiatives to ensure a consistent brand message is communicated to customers at all touch points
* Construct and deliver a targeted marketing plan that supports and aligns with the company's growth objectives encompassing website/online presence; trade shows; events; advertising; and sponsorships
About you
* You are a confident communicator, strategic thinker, and relationship builder who thrives on creating long-term customer value.
* Experience in the construction materials industry in a technical capacity including exposure to new product development – ideally in concrete / cement / related materials segments.
* Sales and customer service experience.
* Business acumen, sound analytical and numerical skills.
* Ability to drive and achieve results working without direct supervision.
* A proven track record in building deep customer relationships and driving growth.
* Drivers Licence.
* A customer-first mindset and a passion for delivering solutions that support sustainable growth.
