About the role
As the Supervisor Underground Mechanical Fixed Plant at Ernest Henry, you will play a critical role in leading the underground mechanical team and ensuring the safe and reliable performance of fixed plant assets across the site.
Reporting to the Superintendent UG Mechanical Fixed Plant, you will take ownership of people safety and asset reliability, driving standards, managing risks and ensuring infrastructure operates at peak performance.
You will combine strong technical capability with hands‐on leadership, driving safety, reliability and continuous improvement while maintaining high operational standards.
Responsibilities
* Champion safety and ensure compliance with site standards
* Supervise and coordinate underground mechanical teams
* Oversee maintenance execution on fixed plant and materials‐handling systems
* Deliver maintenance schedules and manage breakdowns effectively
* Drive reliability and asset performance across underground infrastructure
* Coach and mentor tradespersons and apprentices
* Manage labour, materials and resource utilisation
* Ensure accurate work order completion and data integrity
* Support continuous improvement and operational outcomes
About you
You are a proactive leader with a strong focus on safety, reliability and team performance within an underground environment. You bring a hands‐on approach, value precision and structure, and are confident leading teams in a dynamic operational setting.
Qualifications and experience
* Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical Trade (Fitting/Machining)
* Supervisor training (e.g. S123)
* Experience in underground mining or heavy industry
* Experience with fixed plant, dewatering and hoisting systems
* Strong leadership and people management capability
* Ability to make decisions in a fast‐paced environment
* Strong safety focus and risk awareness
* Current C Class Driver's Licence
