We are seeking a motivated and skilled Gardener/Horticulturist to join our team at Second Nature Gardening in Hobart, Tasmania. This is a casual position that will involve working on a range of landscaping and gardening projects across the local area. You will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the natural beauty of the gardens and outdoor spaces we manage.
What you\'ll be doing
* Carrying out general gardening duties such as mowing, edging, weeding, and pruning
* Planting, caring for, and maintaining a variety of plants, shrubs, and trees
* Assisting with the installation and maintenance of irrigation systems
* Identifying and treating plant diseases and pests
* Providing advice and guidance to clients on garden care and design
* Ensuring work is completed to a high standard and in a timely manner
* Maintaining tools and equipment in good working order
What we\'re looking for
* Formal qualifications in horticulture or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
* Strong practical gardening skills and knowledge of plant care
* Experience in operating a range of gardening equipment and machinery
* Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
* Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work
* A customer-focused approach and the ability to provide helpful advice to clients
* A valid driver\'s license and your own reliable transport
* Be able to provide a police check and working with vulnerable people card (or have the ability to obtain).
