Job Description:
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems to support the UK's renewable energy goals. This includes translating conceptual designs into detailed designs that meet functional and contractual specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design Development: Develop detailed designs for electrical systems that meet customer requirements and specifications.
2. Power System Studies: Conduct power system studies, including load flow analysis, fault analysis, protection studies, voltage flicker assessments, harmonic assessments, and frequency response simulations.
3. Sales Support: Assist in the sales stage of projects by providing conceptual design and tender preparation documents to customers.
4. Collaboration with Mechanical Design Engineers: Work closely with mechanical design engineers to ensure alignment on project requirements and detailed design development.
5. Coordination with CAD Draughtsmen: Liaise with CAD draughtsmen to ensure design package production meets deadlines and quality standards.
6. Project Support: Provide support during installation, commissioning, and testing phases to ensure all necessary documentation is produced on time.
7. Client Liaison: Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential customers, providing technical support and updates as required.
8. HAZOP and Risk Assessment: Participate in and lead HAZOP studies and risk assessments as appropriate.
9. Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality Compliance: Ensure adherence to all health, safety, environmental, and quality management policies and procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Strong IT skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office.
* Power Systems Analysis tools/software: Proficiency in relevant tools.
* AutoCAD draughting package: Knowledge of AutoCAD or similar tools.
* Project management experience: Ability to work on large-scale projects.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:
* Degree in Electrical Engineering: Or HNC/HND with substantial relevant experience.
* Minimum 2 years' experience: In the power generation industry (1-25MW).
* Low and medium voltage power trains: Knowledge of associated control and instrumentation systems.
* Full UK/EU Driving License: Eligible to work in the UK.
