MACA is a proud Thiess company providing specialist civil construction services at a greenfield copper mine in North West Queensland, located on the traditional lands of the Kalkadoon People. MACA is seeking a HD Fitter with Civil experience to join our team working on this exciting new project on a 2:1 roster. Locals in North West Queensland, including Members of the Kalkadoon community and other First Nations people, are highly encouraged to apply for this role on a BIBO basis. Depending on the successful candidate's location, the role can also be offered on a FIFO roster from either Townsville or Brisbane with accommodation on site.
Responsibilities
* Perform the servicing, repair and maintenance of mobile fleet and ancillary equipment.
* Complete general maintenance, breakdowns, services and component change‐outs to a high standard.
* Source technical information from relevant reference manuals, technical bulletins, OEM and computer‐based systems.
* Set and maintain high housekeeping standards.
* Carry out pre‐start checks.
* Effectively work and communicate with other team members to prioritise tasks and achieve deadlines.
* Be highly motivated with the ability to work independently.
* Maintain a can‐do attitude and be safety conscious at all times.
Qualifications
* Australian Trade Certificate (Mechanical Engineering Trade).
* Experience working on Civil / Mining projects.
* Strong diagnostic and fault‐finding experience.
* HR driver licence.
* White Card.
* Certificate II in Automotive Tyre Servicing Technology (highly advantageous).
* Pass pre‐employment medical and National Police Check.
