The Senior Underground Mine Surveyor is responsible for the day-to-day leadership, Management, and direction of the survey function, whilst providing support to the technical services team. We are seeking an experienced Senior Underground Mine Surveyor to join the Mining Technical Services team on an 8/6 FIFO roster. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you'll be responsible for providing day to day leadership and direction of a high-performing surveying team, and provision of support to the technical services team.
What You'll Do
* Being accountable for leading all survey activities and managing the survey team.
* Ensuring survey data integrity and calculations comply with mine plans.
* Ensuring all end of month surveys and reports are completed to an appropriate level of accuracy and timeliness.
* Ensuring statutory survey reporting and plans as required under the WA Mines Act and Regulations are kept up to date.
* Ensure the maintenance and calibration of survey equipment.
* Perform underground survey activities including survey mark-up of planned development, planned drilling & diamond drilling, development pickups, stope void surveying and check surveys as the mine development advances.
* Provide surface surveying including stockpile and dump pickups, surface excavation pickups and surface prism monitoring.
* Prepare and maintain the mine's emergency plans.
* Operating mine drone for monthly surface survey pickups.
* Promoting a safe workplace and culture.
What We're Looking For
Essential Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Applied Science (Surveying).
* At least 8 years' experience in mechanised hard-rock underground mining in a similar role.
* Authorised Mine Surveyor's Certificate of Competency - Grade 1, issued by the WA Department of Mines and Petroleum.
Highly Desirable
* Proficiency with mine surveying software, with advanced level experience using Surpac or Deswik (highly desirable.)
* Previous experiencing working with mining contractors.
* Demonstrated leadership experience and team building capability.
* Awareness of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations.
* High level of attention to detail - must be able to work in the detail without losing focus on the overall objective.
* St Johns Senior First Aid certificate
