Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mobile Health Screening CXR Technician to perform chest X-ray (CXR) screenings, including ILO-compliant X-rays, for miners in the peripheral regions of Melbourne. The role involves conducting high-quality radiographic imaging in mobile radiology units to detect occupational lung diseases, ensuring compliance with International Labour Organization (ILO) standards for chest X-ray classification. The technician will travel to various sites, providing critical health screening services to support the well-being of mining workers.
Key Responsibilities
-Perform Chest X-rays: Conduct high-quality chest X-ray screenings for miners, adhering to ILO standards for the detection of pneumoconiosis and other occupational lung conditions.
-Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain mobile radiographic equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety in varying field conditions.
-Image Processing and Reporting: Ensure accurate image capture, processing, and preliminary assessment, collaborating with radiologists for ILO classification and reporting.
-Mobile Screening: Candidate must be able to travel to the following sites based on:
* Montrose
* Deer Park
* Lysterfield
-Collaboration: Must be able to operate independently and work closely with occupational health teams, physicians, and radiologists to ensure comprehensive health screening outcomes.
Qualifications
-Certification: Valid registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
-EPA Radiation User License for Victoria
-Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in diagnostic radiography, with specific training or experience in chest X-rays and ILO-compliant imaging preferred.
Skills:
-Proficiency in operating digital X-ray equipment and imaging software in mobile settings.
-Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality diagnostic images and understand imaging requirements for
-ILO International Classification of Radiographs for Pneumoconioses.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction.
-Ability to work independently and adapt to mobile and remote work environments.
Licenses: Valid driver's license (required for mobile screening roles).
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and position patients and equipment as needed in mobile units.
