Youth Justice is responsible for the statutory supervision of children and young people in contact with the justice system in Victoria. Children and young people who are involved in Youth Justice are either supervised in the community, or within Youth Justice custodial facilities. Youth Justice works with these children and young people to address the underlying causes of their offending behaviour and help them to achieve positive change in their lives.
Responsibilities
* Support the delivery of strategic projects within the Youth Justice Directorate by contributing to planning, development, implementation, and evaluation.
* Help shape project priorities and respond to complex issues, while managing documentation, tracking progress, and supporting risk and issue management.
* Contribute to improving the outcomes of young people\'s futures.
* Support project planning and monitoring, including contributing to a range of workforce activities to achieve project objectives.
* Engage with key internal and external stakeholders and support the Youth Justice custodial Directorate Team.
The Opportunity
* Ongoing position based at Parkville Youth Justice Precinct.
* VPS 4 salary: $97,955 - $111,142 per year plus super.
* Contribute to the successful delivery of a range of strategic projects within the Youth Justice Directorate.
* Play a role in determining key priorities and responding to complex and sensitive project issues, including project development, delivery, monitoring and evaluation.
* Prepare a range of project documents, monitor and report on project status, contributing to risk and issue management.
The position is based at the Parkville Youth Justice Precinct with regular travel to the Cherry Creek Youth Justice Precinct required.
To Be Successful In This Role You Will Have
* Experience in, or knowledge of, the Youth Justice Custodial environment.
* Strong planning and organisation skills in providing project management support.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a broader team to prepare quality, timely and accurate written materials.
* High-level interpersonal skills and strong stakeholder relationship abilities.
* Ability to determine priorities under tight and conflicting deadlines, taking initiative and working under limited direction.
* Current driver\'s license.
A tertiary qualification in public administration or a similar discipline is desirable. A current Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC) card is required and must be provided prior to receiving your contract of employment, with currency maintained for the period of employment.
